Landon Pennell makes final round of selection for US National Futsal team

 

Back in November of 2016 Landon traveled to Gardener Kansas for one of the regional tryouts hosted accross the country, to begin the new cycle of selecting the USYF US National Futsal teams.  Landon was one of over 100 players in his age bracket competing to be selected to the final combine of the US National Futsal team in the 2003 age group.

After completing this 2 day tryout Landon was one of 12 players invited to the final national team combine on July 13-15.  This three day combine would pit the 80 best futsal players in the 2003 and 2002 age groups from across the country against each other for selection to the 14 man roster avalible to represent the national team.

Overland Park, Kan. (July 14, 2017) - U.S. Youth Futsal has announced the schedule and coaching staff for its 2017 National I.D. Trial, which will take place from July 13-15 in New Century and Overland Park, Kan.

The event brings together the top players born between 1999-2007 from across the country who have attended U.S. Youth Futsal State Identification Trials in seventeen cities throughout the past ten months.

Led by U.S Youth Futsal Technical Director and the U.S. Mens Futsal National Team Head Coach Keith Tozer, U.S. Youth Futsal Director of Coaching Ty Stauffer and Director of Goalkeeping Otto Orf, players will participate in two training sessions and five games during the three-day camp. More than 505 players from 32 states will be guided by 21 coaches from 14 states.  

"It is the most exciting time for the young Futsal players in the country. Players receive training from the best Futsal coaches in the United States ," said Soorena Farboodmanesh, Director of the Futsal I.D. Program.

The boys camp will take place at the New Century Field House in New Century, Kan. under the leadership of Keith Tozer, Orf and Boys Administrator Paul Roderique. They are assisted by an exceptional coaching staff that includes veteran youth national team coach Craig "Hawk" Canavan and former men's national Futsal team player Lee Tschantret. Jose Fabian Rodriguez, Chris Booker, Ricky Pinto and Luis Orellana  round out the boys staff.

The best players in the country will be selected for U.S. Youth Futsal National Teams. The U18, U16 and U14 boys and girls will travel to Costarica at the end of July, while another event is in the works for the younger boys and girls in Canada closer to the end of the year.
