Demise NPSL Split games vs Tulsa Athletics and Dallas City FC

The Demize had their second game of the season against Tulsa Athletics in Branson. This was the first 4th division  game held in Branson and it had a great turn out! The game started off fast with both teams attacking. The Demize struck first with a cross by #4 Jaxn Rogers which was tapped in by #9 Aboubakr Diallo in the 7th minute. The Demize worked well to hold off on the Tulsa attack. Tulsa continued to put Demize under pressure which led to a counter attack from a clear clear ball flicked on by #7 Quinton Carey to #9 Aboubakr Diallo who still had work to do as he held off two defenders and the goalkeeper in order to nicely tuck the ball back post for his second goal of the game in the 28th minute.

The Demize was able to hold off Tulsa to take a 2-0 lead into half time. With the momentum from the first half, Demize came out in the second half full of confidence. The Demize extended their lead in the 50th minute with an excellent run by #17 Desmond Williams who beat the defenders down the line, to then cut back at the top of the 18-yard box laying the ball off to #14 George Redwin who gently tucked the ball into the roof of the net. Tulsa Athletics pressed back by scoring off a corner kick at the 54th minute mark. Tulsa had most of the possesion in the second half which led Demize to counter attacks. Demize was able to get several chances in the second half which saw both #19 Kyler Moore and #7 Quinton Carey hitting the cross bar. The Demize showed great defensive ability to hold off the pressure from Tulsa Athletics in the second half with multiple great saves from goalkeeper #0 Thomas  Zafjer and a goal line clearance from #3 Paul Liagre and #4 Jaxn Rogers. The game ended with a 3-1 victory for the Demize. This win is the first time the Demize has beat Tulsa Athletics which gives great momentum for game on Sunday in Joplin against Dallas City FC and the rest of season ahead.

The Demize took on Dallas City FC on Sunday, May 29th in Joplin. The gamed started off at a slow pace with both teams looking tired from the games they played on Friday. Dallas City FC started the game off strong with a goal in the first three minutes as their striker ran onto a through ball and in between our two center backs to finish the ball over the keeper. The Demize quickly responded with a goal by #9 Aboubakr Diallo from a through ball by #14 George Redwin. Both teams looked to score the next goal as opportunities came from both sides. Each team had 4 chances to get ahead before halftime. As the second half started the Demize looked to gain an edge against a Dallas City FC team who showed great defensive ability to hold off the attack. In the second half Dallas City scored first from a short corner which earned them freekick outside the box which lead to a goal from the restart. Then Demize equalized from #13 Yudai Yamauchi with a great left footed strike outside the box back post on the ground. The Demize pushed hard for the next goal sending multiple people in the box in hopes of winning a long ball dumped into the box. Dallas City FC scored in the final 90 seconds to take the lead 3-2. This would turn out to be the final as the Demize were not able to finish their chances in the second half.
