Former Demize players in the Pros
The Demize are proud to announce current players playing professional level both at home and abroad. We currently have four Demize PDL or NPSL players playing professional soccer. David Paul, who has experience in the USL PRO and 1st division in Poland, is currently on trial with the St. Louis Ambush of the MASL. In addition, Mattia Maggioni is currently the starting goal keeper for Terracina Calcio in Italy. Terracino Calcio plays in Serie D in the Italian league. Newton Sterling has been signed with San Juan Jabloteh FC playing in the TT Pro League. Finally Ben Griffith's signed a professional contract with Iceland's UMF Tindastoll.
The Springfield Demize PDL and Joplin Demize NPSL is proud to announce current players playing professionally both at home and abroad. The Demize pride themselves in developing players and creating a platform in the PDL and NPSL to showcase our top players to continue their playing careers at the professional level. We currently have much of the teams rosters playing collegiately, but we also have four of our top contributors playing professional soccer. David Paul, who has experience in the USL PRO and 1st division in Poland, is currently on trial with St. Louis Ambush of the Major Arena Soccer League. The MASL is in the 1st Division Pro league for indoor soccer here in the United States. David will look to bring his pace, finishing ability, and leadership to the Ambush. David was the captain of the Joplin Demize NPSL side and also helped the PDL team finish out there season as the teams starting left back against both the Lions and Chill.
Our next player, Mattia Maggioni, is currently the starting goal keeper for Terracina Calcio inItaly. Terracina Calcio plays in Serie D in the Italian league. The top division which is Serie A has some of the best players in the world, including Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo, and Fernando Torres. So, our "Italian Stallion" continues to impress across the pond.
Another Demize player playing at the next level is Newton Sterling, a former Jamaican National team player who has participated in World Cupqualifing matches. Newton scored one goal in two appearances with the Demize before a back injury ended his season taking him out of the lineup. Newton has been signed with San Juan Jabloteh FC playing in the TT Pro League, Trinidad and Tobago's 1st division.
Springfield Demize defender Ben Griffiths has signed a professional contract with Iceland’s UMF. Griffiths just concluded his first season playing with the Demize, a member of the United Soccer Leagues’ Professional Development League (USL PDL).Griffiths played collegiately at Missouri State. The defender was named captain his senior season and was recognized with a selection to the all-MVC honorable ment
ion squad. After graduation, Griffiths decided focus on soccer full time.
“He was always a great technical player for us and as the season progressed, he became an attacking threat.” said Demize assistant coach Armen Tonianse. “It’s always a goal of ours to make sure these guys get exposure and move onto the next level. Ben has tremendous character and is always positive and encouraging. We wish him the best and hope that he can use some of the tools he has gained from our organization going forward.”

Collin came to the Demize this summer with a goal in mind, build his resume over the summer by playing in the United Soccer Leagues to help take the next step in his playing career. After finishing the PDL season in July, Collin went to Iceland in search of a contract with first division side Tindastoll. This past week Collin recorded another game winning goal for Tindastoll and was named to the first divisions team of the week.
Collin Helmrich a recent graduate of IPFW a division I college in Indiana came to the Demize this summer with a goal in mind. Build his resume over the summer by playing in the United Soccer Leagues that would help him take the next step in his playing career. Collin not only helped the Demize to victories over the Des Monies Menace, Colorado Foxes, KC Brass and Winnipeg but had five goals and three assists in 15 games played during the 2012 campaign. Two of those goals were game winners the most memorable against the KC Brass in a 2-1 victory.
During his senior year at IPFW Collin was named to All-Summit League First Team. While starting in all 20 games for IPFW he recorded eight goals, 21 points and five assists ranking second in the Summit League in all three categories.
After finishing the PDL season in July, Collin got an invitational tryout in Iceland with first division side Tindastoll. This past week Collin recorded another game winning goal and was named to the first divisions team of the week. ( Round 18 )
During his collegiate career Peter played for both the Springfield Demize PDL and PASL teams during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Peter was also a part of the USL Combine in 2011 were the top 92 PDL players compete for the chance to showcase their skills to top professional teams both in the US and abroad.
The former Drury soccer standout and Springfield Demize Player, Peter Higgins has signed to play professionally in his native Ireland. The 24-year-old Higgins, from Kilkenny, Ireland, has joined the Waterford United Football Club. Higgins was a midfielder for the Panthers from 2007-10 and was a three-time All-Great Lakes Valley Conference selection, including First Team honors as a junior and senior. HIggins started 68 of 69 games in his DU career, finishing with five goals (including four game-winners) and 11 assists. He was instrumental as a junior for a Panthers’ squad that finished 21-2, won the program’s first GLVC Championship and was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally in NCAA Division II.
