The Demize programs are so excited to announce that the NPSL, PASL, and Academy product, Kyler Moore, has signed his first professional contract. The Lake of the Ozarks local will be plying his trade halfway across the world in Melbourne, Australia for Upfield SC. Upfield SC plays in the Victorian State League 3 in the Southeast region of the continent. A direct distance of nearly 9,300 miles from Springfield separates Moore from his new team for the 2019 season. He has accepted a one season contract that could be the next step to bigger things and newer places for our local role model.
Kyler began his Demize journey at the age of 15, when he wandered onto the academy’s open tryout. With the base of some talent to be worked with and an attitude that boasted the ambition to improve, Kyler made his way an hour and a half one way from Camdenton, MO for nearly every practice to play as much as possible with the academy. After large leaps of improvement over the next few years of playing outdoor, indoor, and futsal under Chris Hanlon and other distinguished coaches, he made a name for himself within the high school stage, reaping many individual honors and records at Camdenton High School and many team honors with your very own Demize Academy.
In high school, Kyler served as a wonderfully strong presence of a hard working mentality and a knack for scoring goals. In the summer before his freshman year of college, Kyler tore his ACL. He was sidelined for six months in Physical Therapy, working to get back to the game he loves the most. Fast-forward into his third year of college, Moore transfers from Southwest Baptist University after playing his first season with the Bearcats to the even more local Crusaders of Evangel University. This is where he would become a three year captain to help restart the program from scratch after a more than 40 year hiatus. He left the growing Evangel program as the record holder for Goals Scored, Assists, and Points within not only a Single-Season, but also of All-Time. Meanwhile, Kyler played for the Demize Minor League teams throughout his entire college career featuring for the NPSL, PASL, and PDL teams. Combined with the accolades of his ever-present quality with Evangel, and the hard work and flexibility of his role with the Demize Minor League teams, Moore became a constant name on the game sheet for both the NPSL and PASL teams in the past few years. Having captained both teams he has this to say, “Since I tore my ACL, I have wanted to prove to the world, and to myself something. That no matter where a person comes from, or what situation a person may be in, whether that is injury, financial crisis, emotional or mental disaster that you can make it. I went through it all, more than most understand. However, you can achieve your dreams and end up anywhere if you work hard and go the extra mile to do things others won’t to improve yourself in all areas. ” In 2018, Kyler was chosen alongside his fan-favorite compatriot Jaxn Rogers to play in the NPSL Player Showcase. They were two of 88 players chosen across the nation from the NPSL to showcase their skills in front of professional coaches and scouts. This granted an incredible platform at which Kyler was able to be noticed by the right people. He was chosen for an exclusive program outside of the NPSL for players to be placed within the many leagues in Australia. This leads us to the present day where Kyler has accepted a position on an established Upfield SC team. The opportunities provided on the field for this young man that Demize has been able to facilitate were just a platform to propel from. It takes the right kind of player and person to take hold of the opportunities as well as Moore has done.
Mr. Moore has been ingrained in the DNA of the Demize even further than on the field. After beginning as an assistant coach that hopped around from team to team in the academy, Kyler took the position of Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Kyler has had a hand in much of the media set out by the club in the past year from writing articles and creating graphics that we utilize, to helping to secure sponsors. He has more recently continued his duties at this post while taking the responsibilities of being a Player Manager for both the NPSL and PASL teams, and coaching the Demize Academy U9 and U10 teams, who we might say are killing it in both their leagues and tournaments. He is apart of many areas of the Demize layout that are featured to Southwest Missouri.
“I am so eternally grateful for the opportunities provided to me from the Demize programs. I wouldn’t be anywhere near where I am now without the love and support shown from the Demize staff, fans, and players throughout my years here,” says Moore. Kyler has provided the Demize with a consistent figure to represent the ideals and ideologies of the club for years. His progression showcases the exact model of which the Demize has created for its most devoted players. From the academy experience that progresses to featuring for the Minor League teams set in place, Demize gives a stage that players can showcase their abilities for greater opportunites thereafter. Congratulations to Kyler for this amazing opportunity and we wish him well in this next stage of his development and of his life. We know that Moore will make us proud as he has done for the many years that he has spent developing, improving, playing, and leading for the Demize. Well Done.
